- I head out and find a suitable subject
- I draw it using my fineliner pens, putting in much more detail than I would for a normal painting
- I head home: that's the dash
- I get a spreadsheet on the iPad to choose three colours for me to use
- I paint over the drawing in those three watercolours, applying the paint loosely and not worrying about getting colours right or filling shapes without going over the edges. That's the splash.
There's definitely an element of jeopardy to painting like this.
